Cookie Policy

Last updated: 10 May 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device — your phone, tablet, or computer — when you visit them. They aren’t viruses or spyware, and they can’t read other files on your device. Most cookies just remember things like “this person already saw the cookie banner, don’t show it again.”

We use cookies very lightly. The full list is below.

2. The short version

We use exactly one cookie, and it’s only there to remember your response to our cookie banner. We don’t run analytics, advertising, or any kind of tracking. Section 3 has the details. Section 4 lists what we deliberately don’t use.

3. The cookies we use

Here’s the complete list of cookies set by our website:

Cookie namePurposeProviderTypeDuration
cookieyes-consentRemembers your choices on the cookie bannerPlanty Kitchen (set via the CookieYes plugin)Strictly necessary1 year

That’s the entire list. One cookie.

“Strictly necessary” means it’s only used to operate the consent system itself. UK law requires us to record your banner choice somewhere; without setting this one cookie, we’d have to show you the banner on every single page load. That’s the full extent of its job — it doesn’t track you, identify you, or talk to anyone else.

4. What we don’t use

To make sure there’s no confusion, here’s what we deliberately don’t run:

  • No Google Analytics or any other analytics tool
  • No advertising cookies of any kind
  • No Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight, no TikTok Pixel
  • No cross-site tracking or device fingerprinting
  • No A/B testing or marketing-automation tools
  • No third-party scripts that set cookies
  • No customer-data-platform integrations

If we ever add any of these, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent through the banner.

5. Third-party content

Our website doesn’t currently load any third-party content that sets cookies. If we ever add a feature like an embedded video, social share buttons, or interactive map, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent before activating it.

If you click “Open in Google Maps” or “Open in Apple Maps” on our Visit Us page, those services will set their own cookies in the new tab they open. That’s between you and them — our website doesn’t pass any data along, and clicking is your choice.

6. How to manage your cookie preferences

You have two ways to manage cookies on our site.

Through our cookie banner

The banner appears on your first visit. You can choose:

  • Accept All — agrees to all current and future cookies
  • Reject All — declines everything except the strictly necessary one
  • Customise — pick categories one by one

You can change your choice anytime by clicking the small cookie icon shown on every page.

At the moment, “Accept All” and “Reject All” produce the same result, because we only set one strictly necessary cookie either way. We’re keeping the full set of options anyway — because the choice is still yours, and we’d rather be transparent about it than hide the fact that there’s nothing else to choose.

Through your browser

All major browsers let you block cookies, delete existing ones, or get a warning before any cookie is set:

If you reject our one cookie entirely, the website still works fine. The only side effect: the cookie banner reappears on every visit, because we can’t remember your “no thanks” without saving a cookie to do so.

7. Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy whenever we add or remove cookies. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when we last revised it. If we ever add anything beyond strictly necessary cookies, we’ll ask for your consent through the banner before setting it — never silently.

8. Contact us
